Dessert and Cake Auction a Great Success
Thursday, April 12, 2012
Well, I want you all to know our first ever Dessert and Cake Auction for Easter was a great success. Will probably repeat this one for next year. Many cakes were purchased and then given to someone else as a gift. Very nice time was had by all.
The big doors have been unsealed and are ready to be opened this weekend. Vegetable Plants, herbs and flowers are in abundance. Most plant and produce members will be set up outside in the lot now, and for the rest of the growing season. Be sure to come by and secure your plants for the season. Some really nice large tomato plants in big pots are available, Tumbling Tom tomato baskets and 5 gallon pots, most with bloom and some with tiny tomatoes already. These will go quick. I don't know about you, but I for one cannot wait for that first ripe homegrown tomato from the garden. There is no better eating as far as I am concerned.
Fresh produce this week will be rhubarb, onions, radishes, lettuce, greens, garlic, broccoli and sprouts to my knowledge.
Also just wanted everyone to know the new sign has been installed on the end of the building facing the ball diamonds and aquatic center. It can be seen and read from Muskinghum Drive about a block away.
Our ball caps are in and available for purchase. Cost is $10.00 each. Wearing these caps is like being a walking billboard for the market. Be sure to purchase yours soon and wear it where ever you go. The bags are on the way.
Remember we are on summer hours now 8:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday.
The Wednesday Market starts May 2nd at 3:00pm till 6:00pm and will run through the month of August.
See you on Saturday.
Everyone have a Blessed Day

About Our Market
Wednesday, March 14, 2012
We are a market of approximately 100 to 120 members. We are located at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Marietta, Ohio. Every thing sold here is Home Made, Home Grown or Hand made by a member. Our hours are 9:00am to 1:00pm starting the 1st Saturday in January through the last Saturday in March and 8:00am to 1:00pm the 1st Saturday in April through the last Saturday in December.
We have many events through out the year that we try to schedule around the seasons and available produce. We started off this season with a Health Fair in early February. With the Lower Salem Vol. Fire Department doing free blood pressure and glucose readings.
We'll have our annual Customer Appreciation Breakfast on May 12th. This is always big with sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, jams and jellies, all from the market members. In June we will have our Strawberry Fiesta, with strawberry salads, pizzas, cheesecakes, shortcakes and anything else you can make with strawberries. July 7th we'll once again be doing free hot dogs for our customers. This was a real hit last year. I'll post more as the season progresses. I just wanted to whet your appetite a little today.
If you have never attended our market you may be well pleased at all we have to offer. Please come by and check us out. Offerings to be found here are eggs, poultry, pork, lamb, rabbit, cheese, syrup, honey, awesome pies, wonderful breads, bagels, rolls and a plethora of other baked goods, organic teas, herbs, sprouts, in season produce, plants, flowers, Jams, sauces and condiments, soup and bread mixes.
