May 25 Update

Friday, May 25, 2012

Well here it is Friday night already. The vehicles are loaded and it's almost bed time. Another week gone by and tomorrow is Market Day again. The Marietta High School Choir will be entertaining us tomorrow so come by and give a listen.
There are still a few vegetable plants available, herbs and flowers. Fresh greens from the garden, onions, strawberries, early cherries, rhubarb, radishes, and broccoli. Fresh eggs, baked goods, breads, jams, syrups and condiments. Pork, goat, beef and chicken will be available.
I'm sure the crafters have all been busy this week making new items to fill their stands. So get up early and come on down to the River City Farmers Market and hang out with your friends and neighbors. We are always glad to see you.

Have a Blessed Night

Breakfast is a big success

Friday, May 18, 2012

Big turnout for the customer appreciation breakfast last week. Lots of good food, great music by the Sunderman Family and drawings for flower baskets for Mother's Day. still many baskets to be picked up. I personally enjoyed visits from my 2 beautiful daughters and granddaughter, a big surprise for me, loved every minute of it.
Dog Show at the Fairgrounds this week end so if you are coming to the market please drive slowly and follow the signs. The usual entrance by the office will be blocked off so you must take the next right hand turn and loop around the tree, it's only a few more feet. Don't want to run over the puppies now do we?
Still have garden and bedding plants, herbs and flower baskets to decorate your surroundings. Strawberries, rhubarb and more and more fresh vegetables each week. Had my first ripe tomato today. Tumbling toms in a hanging basket. Juicy and sweet. Can't wait for the big sandwich tomatoes to ripen.
Weather forecast is for a beautiful Saturday so come on down to the Market and see what's new. Walk around, visit with your neighbors, maybe make some new friends and enjoy your outdoor shopping adventure.
Just saw a post from the Bread Garage, they will again not be at the market tomorrow. Promises to be back next week.

Have a Blessed evening

Mid Week

Wednesday, May 9, 2012

Well, here it is mid-week already. Where does the time go? Be sure to stop by the market this afternoon between 3 and 6 pm for your garden plants and early vegetables. We will be set up just inside the main gate at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
'REMEMBER'   this Saturday is your last shopping day for 'MOM'. You can find plenty to choose from at the market. ALSO, Saturday is our annual Customer Appreciation Breakfast 9 till the food runs out. AND  the 2 drawings for $25 each in market bucks to be spent with the vendor(s) of your choice. You can find the coupon for this drawing in the recent issues of The Anchor. AND,    we have 14 gift certificates, to be won by some of our customers, for beautiful flower baskets supplied by our members.
We are also happy to have The Sunderman Family Band here to entertain us again with their Bluegrass Gospel Music. They are always a pleasure to listen too. So much talent in one family.
We have a lot going on to celebrate our "MOMS". We want them all to have a very Special Day and know how much they are appreciated.
We hope you all will come out to help us celebrate and enjoy your shopping experience at the River City Farmers Market.

Saturday, May 5, 2012

Good Saturday morning. Bet'cha thought I forgot didn't you. Got to admit I almost did but I'm here. Better late than not at all.
Wednesday market started off with some brand new faces this week. People who are just now finding out that Marietta, Oh has a farmers market. How can this be??? We continue trying to get the word out in one way or another. So if you know, tell all your friends and ask them to help spread the word by telling all their friends. Look for our articles in the Anchor, something new every other week.
Should be lots of strawberries this week, probably some rhubarb to go with it. Fresh greens from the gardens, radishes, onions, broccoli, and sprouts. I hear we are getting beef back in the market along with our pork, chicken and goat. Sorry our lamb and rabbit lady is not available right now she is a little under the weather. We wish her a speedy recovery.
The bread man says he will be back today. Our famous pie lady should be there as well. Come on by and check out all the great plants all ready for your gardens and porches and flower beds. We have something for everyone.
Well gotta go for now and get ready for the market. Hope to see you all there.

Have a Blessed Day
