Have you had an opportunity to go to the River City Farmers Market here in Marietta? If not, there is no better time than NOW! The farmers are at the peak of their summer crop harvesting. They have fresh picked, beets, cucumbers, ripe tomatoes, sweet corn, green beans, summer squash, onions sweet as candy, egg plant, peppers, new potatoes and so much more. There are apples, peaches, watermelon, and cantaloupe. I do believe you can find about everything you may need to fix your delicious and healthy summer meals right here at the market. And it’s all fresh picked for your eating enjoyment. From vegetables, fruit, meats, cheese, eggs and fresh baked breads and desserts, Condiments, pickles, honey, and syrups. We have it all, up to and including fresh cut flowers for your dinner table centerpiece or to brighten your home or office.

The River City Farmers Market has Award winning Artisans, displaying their product inside the building for your shopping pleasure. There is much to choose from, with custom ordering available from most. Be sure to stop in and browse.  Stop and visit awhile. You are always welcome.

Can’t find who or what you are looking for, just ask our friendly doorman/greeter, Henry. He is always happy to point you in the right direction if he can. While you are talking to him ask about our hats and insulated bags. the market is selling to  raise monies to help support our events and advertising. With the summer heat, the insulated bags are a great way to keep your purchases cool till you get them home and the caps will help keep you cool and protect you from sunburn. They are $10.00 each. Henry will be glad to help you with your purchase.

Hey, did you know you can now pick up the latest issue of  “The Anchor” at the market. You can find them on the table by the main door. Be sure to pick up your copy on Saturday.

Keep up with us ONLINE! Check out our Face book page, River City Farmers Market. Give us a like while you are there.

Friday, July 13, 2012

First I must apologize for not posting the last two weeks. Blame it on the power outage...heat...no internet...all the above and more. But I'm back now and hopefully we are over the bad times and headed for some good ones.

The market is sporting a couple of new members, one has fresh frozen chicken and the other bee hives and fresh honey, the one item we never have enough of. stop by and check them out.

Lots of fresh picked veggies are here to stock your pantry. Ripe red , pink and yellow tomatoes, green peppers, melons, squash, new potatoes and green beans, cabbage, onions, squash and more. Always local grown and always fresh picked.

Fresh home baked breads, pies, cakes and more. You can find it all right here at your local River City Farmers Market, 922 Front Street at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Every Saturday all year long till 1:00 pm. Stop in and say hello. We are always glad to see you. And don't forget we have some of the best Artisans in the Mid Ohio Valley right here in the market. Be sure to walk through the building and see what they have to offer.

Looking for something or someone special, just ask Henry, our friendly greeter and doorman, he'll point you in the right direction.

Hope to see you there, but until then.

Have a Blessed Evening
